MARS

This desert of a planet contains an iron-rich soil which often kicks up into its thin atmosphere and creates

its reddish look. Mars has polar ice caps and a very thin atmosphere. Any water anywhere on Mars would

essentially exist as ice caps below the surface and would tend to evaporate very quickly if at all present in liquid

form. Mars has some volcanic activity, but none near the intensity of Venus. At some point Mars may have harbored life

well before our lifetime, but that still remains in speculation.
