MERCURY

Mercury is the closest planet from the sun. Yet it isn't quite the hottest. It has a surface that much resembles Earth's moon. The sun's flares blast Mercury in such a way that magnetic tornadoes are formed on the surface. Since this planet has no atmosphere, the temperatures at night fall several hundreds of degrees below freezing. At twilight, Mercury can be seen in front of the sun every 13th of a century.
